Swedish mining company LKAB released its operational results for Q2 CY’21 today. Highlights:
- Deliveries of iron ore products increased by 5% y-o-y to 6.9 mn t, with pellets accounting for 85%.
- Pellet production down by 2% y-o-y at 5.9 mn t. Production was disrupted mainly at units in Kiruna as well as due to extended maintenance shutdowns in connection with coronavirus restrictions.
- Net sales for the quarter increased by 98% y-o-y, mainly due to higher prices for highly upgraded iron ore products and delivery volumes set-off by a lower exchange rate.
