Turkey: Ferrous scrap import prices decline in recent deals

Ferrous scrap import prices into Turkey have fallen by around $5/t in deals concluded recently, sources informed SteelMint.

• A US bulk cargo was booked by a Mediterranean region based steel mill for Sept shipments. The cargo comprised 30,000 t of HMS 1/2 (80:20) at $461/t CFR, 5,000 t of shredded scrap and bonus material each at $476/t CFR.
• In another deal heard for Europe-origin scrap for early-Sept shipments, 10,000 t of HMS (80:20) was booked at $458/t while 15,000 t of shredded and bonus were booked at $478/t CFR Turkey each.
