Ukraine: Metinvest’s crude steel output up 10% in H1CY’21

Ukraine’s leading steel producer, Metinvest Group, has released Q2 and H1 CY’21 results on 4 Aug’21. Highlights:

• Crude steel production stands at 4.35 mn t, up 10% y-o-y in H1, mainly due to growth in hot metal production. Hot metal production recorded at 4.40 mn t, higher by 8% y-o-y.
• Crude steel output in Q2 recorded at 2.22 mn t, up 5% q-o-q.
• Finished steel production up 22% y-o-y to 3.48 mn t in H1, due to higher demand and improved productivity in the hot-rolling mills. Semi-finished steel output dropped by 4% to 1.45 mn t in the same period.
