Indian steel mills produced 37.527 mn t of crude steel in the Apr-Jul’21 period, up by 45% as against 25.955 mn t in the same period last year, as per provisional data released by the government’s Joint Plant Committee (JPC) today. Better capacity utilisation, increased exports along with improved domestic consumption resulted in increased crude steel production.
