Zimbabwe clamps down on chrome ore exports

The Zimbabwe government has banned exports of chrome ore with immediate effect, including chrome concentrate exports from July next year, as it seeks to restrict exports of raw materials, as per the latest reports. The government’s move on chrome follows a long line of policy formulations related to mineral beneficiation before exports, SteelMint notes. It deserves mention that Zimbabwe is the third-largest chrome ore supplier to China, behind only Turkey and South Africa.
