Vedanta Resources Ltd. has invited an Expression of Interest (EOI) from distributors and channel partners for its recently-acquired metallurgical coke plants at Khambhalia and Bhachau in Gujarat, both of which were previously owned by Gujarat NRE Coke Limited, having annual capacity of 0.9 mn t/year. The company’s new acquisition would add to its existing plant capacities – Sesa Goa Iron Ore in Goa and Sesa Coke in Maharashtra – making Vedanta the top merchant met coke producer in India.
