Indian graphite electrodes (GE) prices remain unchanged month-on-month for 600mm UHP grade at INR 345,000-350,000/t ($4,650- 4,700/t). Prices for 450mm HP grade are in the range of INR 275,000-290,000/t ($3,700-3,900/t). Prices witnessed a 21% rise in Jul’21 against the Apr-Jun quarter on the back of surging needle coke prices. Imported needle coke prices for Q3 CY’21 have increased by $500/t q-o-q and are currently assessed at $2,300/t for petroleum-based needle coke and $2,000/t for coal-based needle coke.
