Russian steel major, NLMK Group, has recently finished upgrading its basic oxygen furnace (BoF) No. 2 at NLMK Lipetsk. Post overhaul, the production capacity of BOF No. 2 has increased by 15% to 10 mn t from 8.5 mn t earlier, while reducing dust emissions at the same time. The project was carried out under the agreement on environmental development collaboration signed in 2019 by NLMK, the Russian Ministry of Natural Resources and the Environment, the Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resources and the Lipetsk Region Administration.
