Russia: EVRAZ’s crude steel production declines in H1 CY’21

Russian steelmaker EVRAZ has announced Q2 CY’21 results on 29 Jul’21. Quick takes:

• Crude steel production down 1.3% to 3.36 mn t in Q2. Production in H1 recorded at 6.78 mn t, down 2.2% y-o-y.
• Steel sales rise by 6% to 3.24 mn t. In the first half of the year, sales were recorded at 6.30 mn t, down 4.6% y-o-y – mainly due to higher domestic sales of finished products amid favourable market conditions and an increase in steel slab sales following the completion of repairs of BoFs at EVRAZ NTMK.
