SAIL held an auction for 3,400 t of basic grade pig iron on 28 Jul’21 from its Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) in Odisha. Buyers booked the entire quantity at INR 37,500/t exw, sources informed SteelMint. Bid prices increased by INR 350/t ($4/t) compared with the previous auction on 16 Jul, which was concluded at a weighted average price of INR 37,150/t exw. At another auction from IISCO Steel Plant, Burnpur, buyers booked the whole quantity of 500 t at INR 37,700/t exw, up by INR 1,550/t as against the last auction conducted on 14 Jul.
