Pig iron from the CIS countries (Black Sea and Baltic Sea origin) have been unable to move up from current levels.
Offers remained firm due to availability of Scrap at lower prices.
Buyers have been uninterested to take Pig iron interest looking at weakening prices of Scrap.
Prevailing Pig iron (Steel grade) prices:
Russia – $410-425 FoB Baltic Sea
Ukraine – $380-385/MT FOB Black Sea
Russian based Pig iron sellers were heard to have sold the material in the range of $422-425/MT.
Whereas, producers of Pig iron in Ukraine are offered the material at $385/MT.
