China re-launches anti-dumping probe into electrical steel imports

China has launched an anti-dumping investigation on grain oriented flat-rolled electrical steel imported from Japan, South Korea and the European Union, the Ministry of Commerce declared on 23 Jul’21. The probe follows the expiry of anti-dumping tariffs in place for five years since 23 Jul’16. The new review will be concluded before Jul’23, the ministry informed. China imported a total of 20.23 mn t of steel in 2020 – nearly 64% higher compared with 2019.
