During the week ended on 26 Apr, 2014 total Coking Coal imports in India down by 48.5% regarding previous week.
India has imported around 0.60 MnT Coking Coal at the end of Week 17. India’s total weekly import comprises of 17% Coking Coal, comes from different destination. Total imported quantity has decreased from 1.2 MnT of preceding week assessed by SteelMint.
A major supplier of Coking Coal Australia has supplied around 0.53 MnT and registered a down of 43% against the previous week.
India has imported total quantity from Australia & Mozambique. Out of the weekly imports, India has import about 0.07 MnT from Mozambique at Mormugao port; whole quantity imported by JSW Steel.

As per the consideration of 33 major & minor Indian ports, Paradip has imported highest quantity i.e. around 0.23 MnT of Coal. The second highest quantity port was Mormugao, imported around 0.19 MnT of Coking Coal from Australia & Mozambique; the whole quantity belongs to JSW Steel & Sesa Sterlite.
JSW Steel, Bhusan Steel & SAIL are the major importers of Coking Coal at the end of week 17 and imported around 0.15 MnT, 0.13 MnT & 0.12 MnT respectively. Jayaswal Neco has imported around 0.08 MnT Coal from Australia at Vizag port.
The ports considered are: Dahej, Mormugao, Navlakhi, Mundra, Mumbai, New Mangalore, Hazira, Kandla, Bedi, Porbander, Dahanu, Dharmatar PnP, Dharamtar Ispat, Tuticorin, Jaigarh, Dighi, Revdanda, Magdalla, Pipavav GPPL, UTCL- Pipavav, Sanghi, Sikka, Okha, Muldwarka, Dhamra, Ennore, Gangavaram, Haldia, Krishnapatnam, Kakinada, Paradip, Vizag & Karaikal.
