South Korea: Ferrous scrap imports rise by 8% in Jun’21

South Korea, one of the largest ferrous scrap importers in the world, has recorded scrap imports at 0.39 mn t in Jun’21, an increase of 8% m-o-m against 0.36 mn t in May, as per data maintained with SteelMint. Japan continued to be the largest supplier at 0.30 mn t, followed by the US and Russia. Korean mills’ demand for imported scrap increased on growing domestic steel demand.
