SIAM reports 113% jump in auto sales in Q1 FY ’22

  • Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), reported a 113% growth in total domestic auto sales at 31,80,039 units as against 14,92,612 units in Q1 FY ’21.
  • Commenting on Q1 FY ’22 data, Mr Kenichi Ayukawa, President, SIAM said, “Lately, with ease in restrictions, OEMs have carefully resumed operations in a phased manner…Indian Automobile Industry is facing headwinds like steep increase in commodity prices, semi-conductor shortage, and fear of a third Covid wave. In such uncertain environment, the industry is working hard to maximize production and sales while ensuring safety of our people and customers.”
