Japan’s crude steel output to rise over 30% in Jul-Sept’21: Govt

Crude steel production by the world’s third-largest steel producer, Japan, is forecast to rise 30.1% in the Jul-Sept’21 period as against a year earlier to 24.69 mn t, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry has said in a statement on 13 Jul. Demand for steel products, including those for exports, is forecast to increase 17% to 21.75 mn t in the Jul-Sept quarter versus a year earlier. Exports are forecast to rise 26.7%, as per the statement issued by the Ministry.
