Turkey: MMK starts off with 3 mn t/year HRC production target

Turkey’s MMK Metalurji has initiated hot tests at its electric arc furnace (EAF) facility with a casting and rolling module.

• Annual production of hot-rolled coils at MMK’s Turkish production site amounts to about 2 mn t.
• The site is expected to produce 200,000-260,000 t of HR steel in 2021, with the unit reaching full capacity in 2022.

An asset of the MMK Group, MMK Metalurji’s modern steelmaking complex operates an EAF facility with a casting and rolling module, a cold-rolling mill as well as galvanising and colour coating lines.
