India: Russia’s NLMK to build electrical steel plant in Maharashtra

Russian integrated steel major Novolipetsk Steel (NLMK) has announced plans of building a 64,000 t grain oriented steel plant in Maharashtra, India. As per reports, the main process equipment are currently being delivered to the site and equipment installation is likely to start towards the end of the year. Apart from being a specialist in the production of flat steel and electrical steel products, NLMK’s iron ore mining output from the Stoilensky complex in Russia stands at around 43 mn t/year.
