India’s leading aluminium producer NALCO has registered net profit at INR 1,299.56 crore in 2020-21, higher by a mammoth 840% y-o-y compared to INR 138.23 crore in the previous fiscal, according to reports. The astronomical rise in profits resulted from strong operational performance by its units coupled with an effective sales strategy and cost-saving measures. The company clocked the highest ever production of bauxite at 7.365 mn t and aluminium metal at 418,000 t in FY’21. In addition, it has achieved the highest ever aluminium exports at 192,000 t in the last fiscal.
