Iron ore spot prices rise on demand for mainstream fines

The spot price of iron ore Fe 62% fines rose further by $3.8/t to $218.70/t, CFR China, on strong demand for mainstream fines amidst supply crunch. Steel producers in China are unlikely to switch to low-grade fines unless margins remain negative for at least one or two more months, market sources said.
