India: South African RB2 coal trade muted on soft demand

Portside trade of South African RB2 (5,500 NAR) grade coal remained dull this week, with offers standing firm at INR 8,100/t, ex-Gangavaram. Demand from sponge iron units turned sluggish since the past two weeks as several standalone furnaces are heard to be struggling with weak sales volumes, soaring raw material prices and shrinking margins, as per CoalMint reports.
