Steel production in Vietnam rose by 38.7% y-o-y to 13.4 mn t in the first five months of CY’21, according to the Vietnam Steel Association (VSA). Steel sales across categories also recorded an increase of 38.2% to 11.9 mn t. The sharp rise in steel output as well as sales can be attributed to strong demand in the domestic market and active steel billet sales to China.
