Japan’s crude steel production was recorded at 8.4 mn t in May’21, up 7.7% m-o-m compared with 7.8 mn t in the previous month, according to data released by Japan Iron and Steel Federation (JISF). This is the highest monthly steel volume recorded since Jun’19, as per reports. Total crude steel production in the Jan-May’21 period stood at 39.9 mn t.
