China’s National Food and Strategic Reserves Administration will soon release state stockpiles of metals which will be sold in batches to fabricators and manufacturers, as per latest reports. However, the volumes to be released from state reserves can’t be estimated as yet. The State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission has ordered state enterprises to control risks and limit their exposure to overseas commodities markets. Apart from keeping a close watch on the physical and derivatives markets, the government has warned against speculation fuelling commodity inflation.
