Central India: Sponge iron prices drop slightly, trade volumes stable

SteelMint’s benchmark sponge P-DRI (FeM 80%) prices dropped slightly by INR 100/t to INR 30,700/t, exw Raipur, on 15 Jun’21. However, demand remains supported following improved enquiries for billet in the late hours today.

• About 3,000 t of P-DRI transactions were reported at INR 30,500-800/t against offers of INR 30,800-31,000/t, exw and FoR Raipur.
• Bids for DR-CLO grade sponge iron stand at INR 33,000-33,200/t against the backdrop of a slight fall in offers at INR 33,500/t, exw.
