India: SAIL-RSP supplies over 49,000 t of ERW pipes to state governments

For the first time since its inception, SAIL’s Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) has manufactured ERW pipes of thickness (5.0/6.0/6.9 mm) x 457.2 mm (18 inches outer diameter) and (6.3/7.9 mm) x 355.6 mm (14 inches outer diameter) of API Grade and stringent length restriction. RSP has supplied 25 km and 18 km of the two different specifications to the government of Mizoram. It has also supplied 54 km of high diameter/thickness ratio pipes to the governments of Karnataka, West Bengal and Mizoram. Total pipe dispatches stand at 49,278 t, sources informed SteelMint.
