Ferrous scrap exports witnessed a minor uptick of 1% m-o-m to 1.61 mn t in Apr’21 as against 1.59 mn t in Mar, as per customs data compiled by SteelMint. However, on a y-o-y basis exports increased by nearly 38% compared to 1.17 mn t in the year-ago month. Mexico was the top importer of US scrap at 0.25 mn t in Apr followed by Malaysia and Turkey.
