Incessant rains for the last two days have hit coal production at the Sattupalli open cast mine of Singareni Collieries Company Limited in Khammam district in Telangana. While the opencast mine produces around 20,000 t of coal per day on normal days, miners could not undertake operations due to rainfall and waterlogging. Operations are expected to resume only after the water is pumped out, as per reports.
