Steel billet exports from Russia increased by 80% m-o-m in Apr ’21to 1.58 mn t, as per Customs data. Mexico, Belgium, Taiwan, Turkey and the Philippines were the predominant buyers of Russian billet. The steep rise in exports can be attributed to higher buying from Mexico and Belgium. Russia’s billet export volumes rose by 37% on year compared to 1.16 mn t in Apr ’20.
