China, the world’s largest producer of steel, continues to remain at the top spot with 1,064.8 mn t of crude steel production in 2020. India is in second position with 100.3 mn t. Japan is in third spot with 83.2 mn t. The US is the fourth-largest producer with 72.7 mn t and Russia is in fifth place with 71.6 mn t.
It is to be noted that, despite India being the second-largest producer of steel in the world in 2020, no Indian steelmaker could make it to the list of the top 10 global crude steel producers.
