India’s pellet production dropped by around 6% year-on-year (y-o-y) in FY21 to 65.7 million tonnes (mn t) against 70 mn t seen in FY20. The reasons for the drop in production lay in the Covid-induced national lockdowns across the country from March till June’21, that led to sharp drop in both production and demand.
In FY21, India’s pellets production capacity increased by 3.9% from 89.5 mn t in FY20 to 93 mn t in FY21.
