Beating all pandemic-related headwinds, SAIL’s Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) in Odisha produced 693,090 t of hot metal and 637,032 t of crude steel in Apr-May ’21, sources informed SteelMint. Total tonnage of saleable steel produced in the first two months of FY ’22 stood at 582,007 t – the best ever Apr-May performance in the plant’s history. Besides, RSP produced 306,976 t of HR coils during the period. Notably, RSP is a major exporter of high-grade steel plates to Europe and other geographies.
