Iran: Sponge iron output rises by 15% y-o-y

According to figures released by the Iranian Industry, Mining, and Trade Ministry recently, Iran’s sponge iron production registered an increase of 15% y-o-y to around 3 mn t in the first month of the current Iranian year (21 Mar-20 Apr ’21). Meanwhile, sponge iron exports by the Islamic Republic spiked 250% y-o-y to reach 70,000 t.
