Brazil: Vale’s production loss to be around 40,000t/day after Timbopeba incident

Iron ore major Vale has informed that it has stopped traffic on the Fabrica Nova railroad in Brazil which transports iron ore produced at Usina Timbopeba due to labour interdiction, as per latest reports. This will stop material transport from Timbopeba and, consequently, halt production at the unit with an estimated impact of 33,000 t of iron ore fines per day. Also, some of Mina Alegria’s internal mines have been closed with partial impact on production, estimated at 7,500 t of iron ore fines per day.
