India’s largest iron ore producer NMDC has produced 2.79 mn t of iron ore in May’21, down 11% vis-a-vis 3.13 mn t in Apr’21, SteelMint learnt from the miner’s recent BSE disclosure. The company’s total sales picked up 7% to 3.30 mn t compared with Apr’21 sales at 3.09 mn t. Production and dispatches were impacted in May’21 with the company’s mines in Chhattisgarh operating in two shifts instead of the usual three due to lockdown restrictions in the state.
