During the week ended on 12 Apr, 2014 total Coking Coal imports in India declined by 25.8% regarding previous week.
India has imported around 0.61 MnT Coking Coal at the end of Week 15. India’s total weekly import comprises 15.7% Coking Coal, comes from different destination. Total imported quantity has decreased from 0.82 MnT of preceding week assessed by SteelMint.
Australia, a major supplier of Coking Coal, supplied around 0.5 MnT and registered a decline of 34% against the prior week.
India has imported total quantity from Australia, New Zealand & Mozambique. Out of the weekly imports, India has import about 0.08 MnT & 0.03 MnT from New Zealand & Mozambique at Mormugao & Paradip port respectively.
As per the consideration of 33 major & minor Indian ports, Mormugao has imported highest quantity i.e. around 0.2 MnT of Coal. Whole quantity belongs to JSW Steel. The second highest quantity port was Paradip, imported around 0.13 MnT, belongs to Tata Steel, Essar Steel & JSPL.

JSW Steel & Tata Steel are the major importers of Coking Coal at the end of week 15 and imported around 0.20 MnT & 0.17 MnT respectively. SAIL has imported around 0.10 MnT Coal from Australia at Vizag port.
The ports considered are: Dahej, Mormugao, Navlakhi, Mundra, Mumbai, New Mangalore, Hazira, Kandla, Bedi, Porbander, Dahanu, Dharmatar PnP, Dharamtar Ispat, Tuticorin, Jaigarh, Dighi, Revdanda, Magdalla, Pipavav GPPL, UTCL- Pipavav, Sanghi, Sikka, Okha, Muldwarka, Dhamra, Ennore, Gangavaram, Haldia, Krishnapatnam, Kakinada, Paradip, Vizag & Karaikal.
