Japan: Ferrous scrap exports scale up 23% in Apr’21

Ferrous scrap exports from Japan were recorded at 0.86 mn t in Apr’21, as against 0.7 mn t in Mar’21, as per customs data maintained with SteelMint.

• South Korea remained the largest importer with 0.30 mn t, up by 45% m-o-m.
• Vietnam remained the second largest importer at 0.26 mn t, up by 8% m-o-m.
• Exports to China increased to 89,000t in Apr’21 vis-a-vis 59,000 t in Mar’21.
