Coal India subsidiary Mahanadi Coalfields Ltd (MCL) conducted an auction on 15 May’21 in order to dispose the excess inventory of Manoharpur coal mine, which is a captive mine of Odisha Coal and Power (OCPL). However, the auction failed to garner active interest with only 78,750 t receiving bids at a set base price of INR 998/t against the total allotted quantity of 700,000 t, CoalMint learnt from sources.
