SAIL conducted an auction for around 1,200 t silico manganese (0-3mm and 3-10mm of grade 56/16) from its Chandrapur Ferro Alloy Plant in Maharashtra on 28 May’21. The entire quantity offered was booked at INR 58,350/t for 0-3mm. The average bid price for 3-10mm was INR 74,660/t, exw. The price of silico manganese for grade 60/14, (25-150mm) is around INR 90,000/t, ex-Raipur, as per SteelMint data. The previous auction on 17 May’21 had received moderate response. Out of 1,500 t, buyers had booked only 900 t at INR 55,100/t for 0-3mm, exw, and at an average bid price of INR 75,420/t for 3-10mm.
