Turkey’s Kardemir starts exporting rails to Afghanistan State Railways

Turkish steelmaker Kardemir has started exporting rails, with the first shipment scheduled for Afghanistan State Railways, as per SteelMint reports. The company, one of the biggest rails manufacturers in Turkey, has a rail and profile rolling mill capable of producing rail tracks of up to 72 metres. Total production of rails from the mill stands at 1.44 mn t since 2007. The company is expecting to expand its rails export market in the coming months.
