Bangladesh’s bulk import scrap market continues to remain inactive due to bid-offer disparity, SteelMint has learnt from sources. Bulk US-origin shredded scrap offers are heard at $560/t, CFR Chittagong, as scrapyard owners are maintaining higher offers due to limited cargo availability for June’21 shipments and fresh offers are being floated for July’21 shipments. On the other hand, steel mills in Bangladesh are bidding at $530/t levels on CFR basis.
