India’s import offers for ferrous scrap slid around $15-20/t on 25 May’21, compared to the week that ended 22 May’21, as per SteelMint reports. Prices for HMS 1&2 (80:20) UAE origin scrap was heard at $480/t, CFR Nhava Sheva. The price of containerised shredded scrap of UK-origin stands at $515/t, CFR. Buying interest from Indian mills remained low on current offers, sources said, as not many yards were heard actively offering scrap due to price volatility.
