China- the world’s largest consumer and importer of iron ore- has recorded run of mine (ROM) ore production of 86.89 mn t in Apr’21, against 81.75 mn t in Mar’21, according to data furnished by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS). On a yearly basis, output increased by 17% as in Apr’20 production was impacted by the outbreak of COVID. During Jan-Apr’21, China’s crude iron ore production stood at 297.94 mn t.
