China’s coking coal imports decline 45% y-o-y in Apr’21

China’s coking coal imports fell substantially in Apr’21 by 29% m-o-m and 45% y-o-y to around 3.5 mnt, according to the country’s General Administration of Customs (GACC). The lower volume mainly resulted from a slowdown in Mongolian coal exports to China, coupled with the Chinese import ban on Australian coals since Oct’20.
