Vietnam’s steel exports moved up to 3.91 mn t in the Jan-Apr’21 period – a straight rise of over 50% on year, as per data accessed by SteelMint. With close to 0.9 mn t of steel imports from Vietnam during the period, China is on the top of the list followed by Cambodia and Philippines. Chinese imports increased by over 86% on year during the said period. While Vietnam’s exports fell 17% in Apr’21 over previous month, structural production regulations in China provide an immediate upside to exports, SteelMint notes.
