Indian Structure Prices upsurge upto INR 800/MT

Structure offers improved unexpectedly by INR 200-800/MT. Buyers are not expecting price fall in the week.

Mumbai Structure offers up by INR 100-200/MT on increased demand. Limited availability of Scrap made Ingot & Billet costlier that also supported improvement in Structure prices.

“Buying from Jalna has increased that led to Structure price hike”, stated by a local trader based at Mumbai.

A native manufacturer from Mumbai said, “Demand from local buyers is good enough to raise offers and inquiries from international market support that well.”

Heavy Structure manufacturers based at Raipur have raised their offers by INR 500-800/MT during this week. Raipur’s Structure manufacturers have changed the gauge difference for heavy section that increased the prices of material by INR 200-300/MT on an average basis.  Trader based at Raipur confirmed that buying for heavy section is still low but demand for light section is superior. Because of that market participants are not expecting fall in Structure prices this week.

Structure prices in Durgapur jumped up by INR 600-700/MT in last 3-4 days. On Monday (14 Apr, 2014) evening, prices increased by INR 300-400/MT as buying in local market and other states based in eastern region improved. Poor availability of Ingot & Billet has also affected the prices slightly.

Ghaziabad Structure offers equally moved up by INR 300-500/MT. “Costlier semi finish prices are the main reason for price hike”, said a local manufacturer.

On the other side in Ahmedabad, Structure offers remain unchanged as buying is limited in local market. Moreover, increasing inventory level kept the prices on same level, meanwhile melting Scrap offers fell by INR 300-400/MT today.
