Scrap import prices inch up $20/t in Pakistan in a recent deal

Few steel mills in Pakistan have recently booked around 5,000 t of shredded scrap in containers, according to latest reports available with SteelMint. The deal was concluded for UK/Europe-origin shredded scrap at around $525/t, CFR Qasim basis. Imported scrap prices in Pakistan have risen by around $20/t compared to the beginning of last week and prices are on the ascendant after the Eid holidays, with mills resuming active import bookings.
