Japan: Tokyo Steel raises steel prices by up to 18% for June deliveries

Tokyo Steel Manufacturing, Japan’s leading EAF, has announced a hike in its monthly carbon steel offers today for Jun ’21 delivery in order to bridge the gap between domestic and international prices. Also, pick-up in local demand and higher input cost will keep higher prices supported.

Current offers are listed below:

• Hot rolled coil prices up by JPY 16,000/t ($147)
• Hot-dipped galvanized surged by JPY 18,000/t ($165) over pick-up in local demand.
