India: Non-coking Coal Weekly Imports accomplish 3.4 MnT

Non-coking Coal import reached around 3.4 MnT at the week ended on 5 Apr, 2014 and registered a slight decline of 2.8% against previous week.

SteelMint assessed that India has imported around 3.4 MnT at the end of week 14, which shown decline from 3.5 MnT of preceding week. Out of the total imported, around 79% comprises of Non-coking comes from different destination.

Indonesia, a major supplier of Non-coking, supplied around 2.6 MnT in the period of week 14 and registered a down of 2% against the prior week.

A large quantity of Non-coking is imported from Indonesia, Australia & South Africa. Out of the total weekly imports, India has imported around 0.29 MnT from Australia which belongs to Adani Power & KISPL (Knowledge Infrastructure Private Limited). About 0.24 MnT & 0.13 MnT Non-coking arrived from South Africa & USA. South African Coal which imported at Krishnapatnam & Mangalore port belongs to KI International, Indian Cement, Satavahana & Magnifico.

Non-coking Coal Week 14 Mundra port on the West Coast of India has imported maximum quantity i.e. around 0.8 MnT of Coal, contribution of quantity was given by Adani Power, Coastal Gujarat Power & Shree Cement as per the consideration of 33 major & minor Indian ports. Gangavaram is the second highest quantity port that imported around 0.32 MnT of Non-coking.

Adani Enterprises, Adani Power & TNEB are the major importers at the week ended on 5 Apr, 2014. Adani Enterprises has imported about 0.91 MnT Coal came from Indonesia. Adani Power & TNEB has imported around 0.58 MnT & 0.24 MnT of Coal respectively from Indonesia & Australia.
