SteelMint’s bi-weekly domestic pellet index “PELLEX ” moved up by INR 450/t to INR 15,000/t DAP Raipur in recent deals. Four deals with total quantity of 40,000 t pellet were reported in this publishing window at INR 14,650-15,350/t DAP, Raipur.
Raipur based pellet maker – Godawari Power raised offer by around INR 500/t to INR 15,500/t exw Raipur. Pellet makers of Raipur are eagerly waiting for NMDC’s price revision for this month which is round the corner, sources highlighted.
Few pellet makers located in Raigarh and Jharsuguda are not offering pellets owing to pending dispatches of previous bookings and scheduled maintanance shutdown. Sponge iron manufacturers expect pellet prices to remain supported in the near term on tight supplies and recently concluded export deals.
Pellet sponge (P-DRI) prices in Raipur have increased by around INR 900/t w-o-w to INR 29,400/t exw today. On a daily basis, prices have remained stable.

- Five firm offers were reported and three were offered from Raipur and the rest from outside Raipur. All were taken for price calculation and given a weightage of 50%.
- Two firm bids also received in this publishing window however only one was considered for price calculation in this index.
